The Spring Mahj Social is a relaxed, welcoming event for players who want to try a little structured play in a fun and supportive setting. We’ll rotate tables, keep score, and celebrate a few standout moments with prizes along the way.
Expect laughter, encouragement, and a room full of people who are all learning together.
Whether you have been playing for a few months or are still getting comfortable with your tiles, this afternoon is about showing up, playing a few great games, and enjoying the experience.
Food, drinks, and plenty of conversation included.
If you’d like to brush up on your skills beforehand, join us for Open Play at the club. The more you play, the more confident you’ll feel.

If you’re new to Mahjong, haven’t played much yet, or just want to learn before jumping in, we strongly encourage you to start at the lesson table. It’s there for a reason.
The lesson table will run alongside the tournament and is a relaxed place to learn the game, ask questions, watch play up close, and get comfortable with tiles and turns. Many players will begin their night there, and depending on interest, we may open a second lesson table as well.
This is not a separate experience. It is part of the joy.
What the Afternoon Will Look Like
When you arrive, you’ll check in, grab a snack or drink, and settle in at one of the Mahjong tables. We’ll get everyone started with a quick overview so the flow of the afternoon feels comfortable and easy to follow.
From there, we’ll play several rounds of Mahjong with table rotations, giving you the chance to meet new players and experience different playing styles. We’ll keep score throughout the afternoon and celebrate a few standout moments with prizes along the way.
If you’re still learning or would prefer to ease in, our lesson table will be open the entire time. This is a great place to ask questions, watch a round unfold, or play at a slower pace until you feel ready to join the main tables. Many players start here before jumping in.
Throughout the event, a Mahjong Auntie will be nearby to answer questions, help keep things moving smoothly, and make sure everyone feels comfortable at the table.
We’ll wrap up the afternoon by bringing everyone together for a final round before celebrating our winners and enjoying a few last laughs together.
Think of it as a spring Mahjong gathering with a little structure, a little friendly competition, and a lot of fun.
