A modern social club

April Twenty-Ninth exists for the moment when you say, “We should get together,” and actually mean it.

It is a modern social club built around card tables, Mahjong tiles, creative hands, and evenings that unfold naturally. We host open play, classes, and events that make it easy to show up, sit down, and feel like you belong there.

Some nights you will be playing Mahjong. Some nights you will be learning something new. Some nights you will arrive with friends, and other nights you will leave having made a few.

We are a dedicated gluten-free space, which means everyone can relax and actually enjoy the snacks. We serve Charcuterie Plates and Dirty Sodas, which are fizzy drinks with syrups, creams, and a little personality. If you do not know what that means yet, we will happily fix that.

The tables are set. The rules are printed. The lighting is right.

All you have to do is take a seat.

Collage of various activities and objects including a mahjong game, a set of colorful pens, a reserved table sign, a refreshing drink with lime and lemon slices, an open book, a person knitting, a Mahjong game, a hand of playing cards, a person doing embroidery, a board game of Mahjong, a charcuterie board with cheese, nuts, and grapes, and a person preparing food.

Here is how things work around here.

We have a full weekly schedule with classes, events, and open play. Some nights are Mahjong. Some are yarn. Some are chaotic delight. Check the schedule to see what’s happening.

Reservations are required for Events, Classes, and Open Play. We are tiny. We only have so many seats and tables. Booking a spot keeps it fair and fun for everyone.

Walk ins are welcome for drinks and shopping. No reservation needed.

Parking

We have a few spots right out front. Handicap spot included.

Do not park in the lot to the west. They are not playing games. They will tow you.

All the blue P spots are yours to enjoy.

Signage includes a banner that says 'We Are Open!', a 'NO PARKING' sign, and a marker indicating the location as 'April Twenty-Ninth'. Streets labeled as East Mobile Street, Magnolia Street, and East Tennessee Street are visible.
A no parking zone marked with blue lines in front of a building with a wooden frame that looks like it might support an overhead element. The building has a stairway leading to a black door with the number 721, and the background features a gray industrial exterior with red GP logo and part of a gray metal fence on the right. The sky is clear and blue.
